Auditing
Australia Working Safely will consult with an organisation as to their auditing requirements. This could range from a
- Review of their existing Occupational Health & Safety Management System / Work Health & Safety Management System against the new Work Health & Safety Laws to identify any gaps or shortcomings required for compliance, through to.
- An audit against AS/NZS4801:2001 as described below.
Based on Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard 4801:2001 “Occupational health and safety management systems – Specification with guidance for use” an audit is undertaken of the different elements that comprise an OH&S / WH&S Management System. For each element the audit covers 5 stages of the OH&S /WH&S Management System Model
- OHS / WH&S Policy
- Planning
- Implementation
- Measurement and evaluation
- Management review
The number of total points possible is adjusted and weighted to suit the nature of the industry. There are a series of checkpoints for each element against which the Occupational Health and Safety Management System / Work Health and Safety Management System is scored. Where the score for each element is not 100% then specific recommendations are made on what is required to improve the score.
